Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last updated: June 22, 2026

This policy explains how billing, cancellation, and refunds work at Hornet Marketing — covering both the one-time build fee and your ongoing monthly subscription. We have written it in plain English so you know exactly what you are paying for and what happens if you cancel.

Short version: the one-time build fee is non-refundable, and your monthly plan auto-renews each month until you cancel — it's month-to-month, not a fixed term. You can cancel anytime. Canceling stops future charges but does not refund or prorate money you have already paid, and your website goes offline when your subscription ends. The details are below.

The short version

  • The one-time build fee you pay at signup is non-refundable.
  • Your monthly subscription auto-renews each month until you cancel — it's month-to-month, not a long-term contract. You can cancel anytime.
  • Canceling stops all future monthly charges. It does not refund or prorate amounts you have already paid — including the current month or the build fee.
  • When your subscription ends — whether you cancel or stop paying — your website is taken offline.
  • There is no long-term contract and no early-termination fee.
  • Questions about a charge? Email hello@hornetmarketing.com or call 919-378-0155 before disputing it with your bank — we can almost always sort it out faster.

What you pay

Hornet Marketing builds your website and then hosts and maintains it for you on an ongoing basis. There are two plans:

  • Easy Start — a $100 build fee today, then $100 per month.
  • Best Value — a $300 build fee today, then $75 per month.

All prices are in U.S. dollars (USD). Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your full card number.

The build fee is non-refundable

The one-time build fee is charged immediately when you sign up. It covers the work of building, configuring, and launching your website. Because that work is delivered up front, the build fee is non-refundable — it is not returned if you later cancel.

Your monthly subscription

After signup, your first monthly charge happens about 30 days later — the build fee effectively covers your first month of service. From then on, your plan renews automatically each month at the rate for your plan, and that charge continues until you cancel.

Your monthly subscription covers ongoing hosting, maintenance, and keeping your site live on our infrastructure. The billing terms above — the amount, the monthly frequency, that it auto-renews, and when your first monthly charge hits — are shown to you before you sign up at checkout.

How to cancel

You can cancel anytime through the Stripe customer portal — the same secure billing portal where you manage your payment details. There is no phone call to make and no cancellation fee. If you can't find the link or need a hand, email hello@hornetmarketing.com or call 919-378-0155 and we'll help you cancel.

What happens when you cancel

Canceling stops all future monthly charges. It does not trigger a refund or a partial (prorated) credit for time already paid:

  • The build fee is not refunded.
  • The current month you have already paid is not refunded or prorated.
  • No further monthly charges are made after you cancel.

Because Hornet Marketing hosts and operates your website as a service, your site is taken offline when your subscription ends. The service — hosting, maintenance, and keeping your site live — ends with the subscription.

For what happens to your content, your collected leads, and your domain after your site goes offline, see the "When the Service ends" section of our Terms of Service.

Missed or failed payments

If a monthly payment fails, your account enters a past-due grace period. During that period your site stays live while we retry the charge and let you know, so you have a chance to fix it (for example, by updating your card in the billing portal). If the payment stays unresolved, your website is taken offline. You can restore service by paying the outstanding balance and bringing your account back into good standing, where possible.

No contract, no early-termination fee

There is no long-term contract and no cancellation or early-termination fee. You pay month to month and can stop anytime by canceling in the billing portal.

Refunds for billing errors

While the build fee and paid months are non-refundable, mistakes happen. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at hello@hornetmarketing.com or 919-378-0155. If we confirm a charge was made in error — for example, a duplicate charge or a charge after your cancellation took effect — we will refund that erroneous amount to your original payment method through Stripe. This applies only to genuine billing errors and does not change the non-refundable nature of the build fee or paid months.

Service availability

Hornet Marketing hosts and operates your website as a service, provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We work hard to keep your site online and running well, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service, and downtime does not entitle you to a refund or credit of the build fee or any monthly payment. Our warranty disclaimers and the limits on our liability are set out in our Terms of Service and apply to this policy as well.

Billing questions and disputes

If you don't recognize a charge or have a question about your bill, please reach out to us first at hello@hornetmarketing.com or 919-378-0155 before filing a dispute or chargeback with your bank. We can almost always resolve billing questions directly and faster. Charges are processed by Stripe and will appear on your statement.

This policy works alongside our Terms of Service and should be read together with it. If this policy conflicts with the billing section of our Terms of Service, the Terms of Service control.
